“WILL YOU JOIN US WITH
YOUR PASSION AND EXPERTISE?”
The Greater Washington DC Chapter of the Network of Spiritual Progressives is truly grateful and excited by the overwhelming response that we received at the launch of our new chapter & the 25th Anniversary celebration of Tikkun Magazine on March 14th.
Clearly there is a lot of energy in our nation’s capital and throughout the region for a reinvigorated movement led by people of faith, the people of high spirituality, and of those who foster progressive values.
Tuesday evening we want to hear your ideas about how we can begin the process of:
~ Addressing issues of most concern to you
~ Encouraging the development of a truly
“Caring Society”
~ Developing a movement with a powerful
spiritual progressive voice maximizing the
benefit of proximity to the Halls of Congress
in Washington,DC.
~ Collaborating with other progressive &
spiritual/faith-based organizations
~ Creating a strong racially, ethnically,and
generationally diverse movement
~ Encouraging more interfaith understanding
and cooperation among progressives
~ Providing a safe place for honest dialogue
~ Creating a sacred space for shared
reflection and inspiration
“Our nation is currently in the midst of a great debate, between the politics of hope and the politics of fear. Now is not the time to be realistic – instead we must be bold and courageous.”
…. Rabbi Michael Lerner
The mission of the Network of Spiritual Progressives of Greater Washington DC (NSP-DC) is to connect and collaborate with spiritual activists and progressives in Washington,DC, Maryland and Virginia. NSP-DC aims to provide a sacred space where kindred spirits; through shared reflection and mutual cooperation, can develop a compelling voice and powerful framework for progressive spiritual activism as articulated in the “Spiritual Covenant with America”.
